The Clubs at Graywood are pleased to support the social atmosphere of our community with special events each year for our Members. We have included a list below of traditional events. However, please refer to your Club Newsletter as additional events are added throughout the year.

The Weekly News Bulletin is sent out via e-mail once a week. This e-mail serves as a medium for the Club to be in touch with the Members giving the latest up-to-the-minute details regarding events at the club.
The Club View newsletter is mailed to Members bi-monthly and includes all Club events and activities for a two-month period of time. Its purpose is to inform Members of the Club’s upcoming events and keep Members apprised of any membership changes.
Dress Code
Members, spouses, dependents and guests are expected to wear the appropriate attire when on Club property.
Golf Course
Please note no walking, jogging, or riding bicycles is permitted on the golf course cart paths at any time.
Tipping
A service charge is automatically added to all food and beverage charges, and tipping is not necessary unless a Member wishes to reward an employee for exceptional performance. Tipping is permitted for the outside service area for golf.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the Clubhouse. Cigarette receptacles are located around the outside perimeter of each Club. For your convenience, cigars are available for sale in the Golf Pro Shop. However, please remember to pick up and dispose of your cigarette or cigar butts when smoking on the course.
Alcohol Consumption
Appropriate alcohol service is a matter of interest to all Members of the Club who share a mutual desire that such service be consistent not only with proper decorum but also with the laws. Therefore, the Club’s policy shall be not to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone who is or appears to be intoxicated. Such policy shall apply to guests as well as Members. All alcoholic beverages must be consumed on Club premises. We ask for your sincere cooperation in this regard.
Member Accounts & Billing
At the time of application you were issued a membership number, which reflects your Member account number. This account number applies to your entire family. Unless otherwise advised in writing, we will honor all charges to your account from your family.
Signing of Member Tickets
When charging to your account, a ticket or “chit” will be presented to you for signature. Please use your membership number and sign your name legibly on the chit to facilitate proper posting.
Payment of Member Account
Members are required to keep their accounts current. Should an account be delinquent, membership privileges may be suspended in accordance with Club Rules and Regulations.
Within the first 5 working days of each month, you will receive your billing statements. This statement is for all charges incurred during the previous month plus dues for the upcoming month. If while reviewing your monthly statement, you find that you have been billed incorrectly, please call the accounting office at 337-562-1653. Payments are due by the 20th of each calendar month. If payment is not received before the closing date, an automatic late fee may be assessed to the account.
Food and Beverage Service
Graywood’s Food and Beverage Staff take great pride in providing our Members the highest quality in food and service for your dining pleasure featuring four outlets for food and beverage service; Evergreen Room, The Cypress Grill, The Edge at The Sports Club, and Beverage Cart service on the golf course. All Member charges will be applied to your account and will be reflected on your monthly statement. Please remember to sign your name and write your account number on each ticket.
The Cypress Grill
The Cypress Grill offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service and is open from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. seven days per week. Please refer to your Club newsletter for special event nights and additional dining promotions.
The Sports Club “Edge”
The Edge, an informal café style retreat provides lunch and dinner service in season (summer months), and dinner only service during off season. Please refer to the Club Newsletter for up-to-date hours of operation.
Reservations
We recommend you call for reservations to ensure optimal planning for your dining enjoyment. Reservations for special events such as the Holiday Brunch, New Years Eve Celebration, Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day are mandatory and have a 48-hour cancellation policy (whereas your Member account will be charged for the number of people reserved times the cost of the event).
Catering
The private dining rooms and banquet facilities of the Club are an invaluable benefit of membership. The Club can accommodate groups from two to one hundred and fifty with a full range of services including the arrangement of entertainment, audio-visual equipment, flowers and decorations. Virtually all details will be arranged to meet your specific needs.

Member Tee Time Reservations
Tee Time reservations are currently taken over the phone or in person. Members are afforded 14-day advanced tee time reservations. The person making the Tee Time request is responsible for providing the names of all other players in the group. If you do not have the names of the other players when you make the reservation, please call and let them know. Reservations for a group will not be taken using one name only.
Guests
All golfers are required to register in the golf shop before play. Members received a preferred discount on all guest usage.If you are renting a golf cart, paying for a guest or conducting any other transaction, please remember to sign your ticket before leaving the golf shop.
Practice Facilities
Members receive complimentary range balls and access to the Club’s practice facilities. The Driving Range will open 30 minutes prior to the first Tee Time and will close at sunset.
Join Members of the Professional Staff as we practice our games on the driving range. Learn to practice properly while the Pros help you with your game.
Golf Academy / Lessons
Individual instruction is available and focuses on developing strong fundamentals to reach personal goals while enjoying the game of golf. One-on-one instructions, for all levels of golfers, will include digital and computer analysis as needed, as well as drills and teaching aids to help students understand full-swing, short-game and putting fundamentals. Special attention is paid to the individual needs of each student. *Rates are based on a one-hour lesson and can be adjusted to accommodate your specific needs and package deals are available at all times.
Bag Storage
For your convenience in storing your clubs, bag storage is available to all golf Members. An attendant will be stationed at the driving range area, where your clubs will be waiting for you upon arrival. We hope you will enjoy the many benefits of bag storage service such as:

Locker Services
Clubhouse lockers are available to all golf Members. Members are reminded to make sure all personal belongings are in their lockers when leaving the facility.
Pro Shop Merchandise
The Gray Plantation Golf Shop is open to all Members and offers special pricing on all merchandise for Members of the Club. Any items purchased in the Golf Pro Shop will be charged to your Member account. Payment via credit card is permissible by Members and guests may use their credit card for greens fees and purchases in the Golf Pro Shop.
Dress Code
Soft spikes and collared shirts are required for both the golf course and driving range.
Associations
Gray Plantation features two associations for organized play; Men’s Golf Association (MGA) and the Women’s Golf Association (MGA). We encourage your participation and have included a listing of organized tournaments for your information. For sign up information, please check with the Golf Pro Shop.
Safety/Responsibility
The Safety and well being of our Members is very important to us. However, as a reminder, it is the responsibility of all Members to uphold the Rules and Regulations of the Club and assist in ensuring a safe environment. Some suggested ways to assist:
- Members and guests are responsible for bodily injury or property damage caused while operating a golf cart.
- The Club is not responsible for any personal belongings, such as golf and water sports equipment, clothing, jewelry, valuables, etc., left on Club premises, included but not limited to, the Pro Shop, bag storage, locker rooms, tennis area, pool area or Clubhouse areas from damage or loss by theft, fire, vandalism or other related causes. The club recommends that all Members carry insurance on their personal property.
The Sports Club features a variety of facilities and services to meet the lifestyle needs of the entire family. The Club serves as a fitness training center, offers a junior Olympic swimming pool and a multitude of activities for adults and children.
Tennis
The club currently offers eight outdoor lighted hydro-clay courts and two hard-tru courts. The season runs April 1st through September 30th, and offers a variety of programs and activities for beginners to experienced players. To schedule a lesson or to reserve a tennis court, please contact the tennis pro shop at 337-477-1114. Please note that tennis court reservations are on first come, first serve basis for one-hour time blocks.
Fitness Evaluations
The first step in getting started on your personal training journey requires the completion of a total body evaluation. This evaluation includes body-fat analysis, cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility testing. This is required before beginning any personal training program.
Personal Training
The Sports Club Fitness Staff is trained and available to assist you in achieving your personal fitness goals. Personal training sessions are offered by appointment only. Please contact the front desk to reserve a training time.
The Kool Katz Club features a variety of children’s programs and activities to assist with their development while allowing them to have fun and make friends. A few examples include: Amigitos-Little Friends, Kinder Tot, Kinder Gym, Creative Kids-Ceramics 101, Swim Lessons and Mini Monet’s. For a complete listing, please contact the front desk for a full listing of times and fees for the following programs.
The Kids Corner
The Kid’s Corner has been established as a convenience for our Members utilizing the Club facilities and features child-sized equipment, furniture, toys, games and videos to meet the needs of all age groups. It provides up to four-hours of babysitting service for children ages 2 to 9 years of age, and up to two hours of service for children from the ages of 9 to 24 months.
Members utilizing this service are required to remain on Club property at all times and pay fees in accordance with the hours and number of children utilizing the service. This includes The Sports Club, Main Clubhouse of Gray Plantation and golf course facilities. Please note: parents of children ages 9 to 24 months are required to remain within the Sports Club at all times. In addition, please note that the service does not provide for diaper changing or feedings.
The Sports Club features a pool deck with two pools. The shallow pool provides water and slide features for the young children to play, and a lap pool which will satisfy swimmers of all levels. The pool deck is equipped with lounge chairs for your relaxing pleasure, some of which are protected from the sun.
The swim season officially opens Memorial Day, and continues through Labor Day, each year and provides a variety of “fun in the sun” activities.
Please note there are limited weekday hours from May 1st to June 1st due to school schedule. Beginning June the pool will be open seven days each week from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Lifeguards will be on duty during all pool hours to ensure the safety of all Members. We respectfully request that all those using the facilities follow the rules posted on the pool deck in order to provide a safe environment for our Members. All Members wishing to utilize the swimming pool facilities are required to sign in.
Pool Guest Fees
All guests must be accompanied by the Member and are required to be registered at the pool entry desk prior to usage of facilities. A fee of $7.00 is associated with all guest usage.
Swim Lessons
Swimming lessons are provided with registration beginning May 29th. Lessons will run in two-week sessions, eight 30-minute classes, Monday through Thursday of each week. All classes will be held in the mornings prior to the pool’s opening, with times determined by age group. Please contact the Front desk for additional information.
Gators Swim Team
The Club is also host to the Gators Swim Team, which provides competitive swimming activities for children of all ages. Practice for the 2010 season is held Monday through Friday. If you have a child who may be interested in joining the Gators, please contact the front desk for more information.
