Kevin Tracey
Director of Golf

Kevin’s experience providing top notch service makes him a great fit for Gray Plantation.  He previously worked in Austin, Texas at both The Hills Country Club and The Austin Country Club.  Most recently, he has been the Head Teaching Professional at the Baton Rouge Country Club, where he taught roughly 900 lessons a year and was highly sought after for his teaching abilities.  Tracey says that he intends to introduce a new standard of member service and golf operations management at Gray Plantation.





Greg Culwell

Head Golf Professional

Greg’s spent 6 years in Austin, Texas at The Hills and Berry Creek Country Clubs. Most recently, Greg was the Head Golf Professional at The Outlaw Golf Club in Alto, New Mexico. Greg brings veteran Head Golf Professional experience to our golf operation and we are honored to have him at Gray Plantation.




Scott Ledet
Course Superintendent

With a degree in Horticulture from Louisiana State University, he first applied his skills at English Turn in New Orleans, Louisiana as assistant superintendent.  From this position, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he assisted in construction of the Heritage Golf Club. At the conclusion of this project, he served as their assistant superintendent from 1995 to 1997. He later took a position at P.G.A. National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, serving as assistant superintendent. P.G.A. National is known for hosting the Senior P.G.A. Championship. 

 

Golf Operations

Member Tee Time Reservations

Tee Time reservations are currently taken over the phone or in person.  Members are
afforded 14-day advanced tee time reservations.

The person making the Tee Time request is responsible for providing the names of all other
players in the group. If you do not have the names of the other players when you
make the reservation, please call and let them know. Reservations for a group will not be
taken using one name only.

Guests

All golfers are required to register in the golf shop before play.  Members received
a preferred discount on all guest usage.

If you are renting a golf cart, paying for a guest or conducting any other transaction,
please remember to sign your ticket before leaving the golf shop.

Practice Facilities

Members receive complimentary range balls and access to the Club’s practice facilities. 
The Driving Range will open 30 minutes prior to the first Tee Time and will close at sunset.

Join Members of the Professional Staff as we practice our games on the driving range.
Learn to practice properly while the Pros help you with your game. 


Dress Code

Soft spikes and collared shirts and no denim are required for both the golf course and driving range.


Safety/Responsibility

The Safety and well being of our Members is very important to us.  However, as a
reminder, it is the responsibility of all Members to uphold the Rules and Regulations
of the Club and assist in ensuring a safe environment.  Some suggested ways to assist:

Members and guests are responsible for bodily injury or property damage caused while
operating a golf cart.

The Club is not responsible for any personal belongings, such as golf and water sports 
equipment, clothing, jewelry, valuables, etc., left on Club premises, included but not
limited to, the Pro Shop,  locker rooms, tennis area, pool area or Clubhouse 
areas from damage or loss by theft, fire, vandalism or other related causes. 

The club recommends that all Members carry insurance on their personal property.

Directions

 

From Houston:  Take I-10 East to Lake Charles.  Just west of Lake Charles take the I-210 loop.  Exit onto Nelson Road and turn right. Continue on Nelson Road through the intersection at W. McNeese.  Take a right onto Country Club Road then a left at Big Lake Road. Continue on then make a right at the Graywood entrance.

From Lafayette:  Take I-10 West to Lake Charles.  Just east of Lake Charles take the I-210 loop.  Exit onto Nelson Road and turn left.  Continue on Nelson Road through the intersection at W. McNeese.  Take a right onto Country Club Road then a left at Big Lake Road. Continue on then make a right at the Graywood entrance.

Local residents may also want to use the new entrance off Big Lake Road as shown on the map.
