The Gray Plantation Golf Academy can custom fit men and women of all ages.  Director of Instruction and PGA Professional, Mark Moore, has developed a fitting system that incorporates the Zelocity Launch Monitor, V1 swing analysis software, and the SAM putting system.  All of these tools provide cutting edge data and technology that identifies the exact clubs, shafts, and heads that match your swing speed and fundamentals. 

In addition to the technology, we have a full club repair studio that includes a putter bending machine, lie/loft bending machine, shaft extractor, shaft frequency machine, and grinders to adjust the bounce on wedges.

How am I supposed to know what shaft flex, clubhead, length, lie angle, grip, is right for me?

The Zelocity Launch Monitor uses Doppler radar technology to collect hundreds of thousands of data points for ball flight and swing analysis.  Before the ball lands the data points register swing speed, launch angle, spin rate, ball speed, carry distance, and most importantly total distance!  All of these factors are analyzed by a PGA professional to guarantee that you are hitting the clubs, shafts, and heads that maximize your distance and accuracy.

Will a new club improve my game?

In addition to the Zelocity Launch monitor, the Gray Plantation Golf Academy uses state-of-the-art high-speed cameras to view your golf swing in slow motion.  The V1 software enables our PGA professional to analyze your golf swing in slow motion to easily identify if your fundamentals need to be improved.  Your golf swing will be placed side by side with any PGA Tour player so you can visualize recommended positions for your golf swing.  If needed, we will help you with your fundamentals so you are guaranteed to get the most distance and accuracy out of you new clubs.

How do I know what putter is best for me?  Offset? Centershaft?  Blade?  Mallet?  Belly putter?

The Gray Plantation Golf Academy uses the SAM putting system to analyze 28 different variables in your putting stroke including putter path, clubface open or closed, acceleration, and deceleration.  The Science and Motion putting system uses ultrasound to detect every movement of the putter head throughout your stroke.  Within seconds the SAM putting system gives you a full detailed report enabling our PGA Professional to develop a training program on how you can correct any flaws.  In addition to developing a training program, we will match the style of putter that produces the best roll off your putterhead.

For instance, if the computer tells you that your putterface is 1.2 degrees open at impact you want to try an offset putter to give the putterhead more time to rotate through the ball.  However, if the path of your putter moves from outside the target line to inside the target line then you will know exactly why you hold the putterface open at impact.  Literally years of wondering what you do with your individual putting stroke will be revealed in seconds.

How do I know which ball is best for me?

The Gray Plantation Golf Academy can let you hit any brands of golf balls side by side on our ball launch monitor to see which golf ball gives you the best distance and accuracy.  Do you ever wonder why when you go to the driving range your driver doesn’t seem to go as far?  On average, a player with 100 mph swing speed will lose 10-15 yards of his drives using a standard range ball!!!  The ball makes a considerable difference.
