
Ronnie Walters
Director of Tennis
Prior to joining the staff of The Sports Club, Ronnie served as Tennis Director of the Lake Charles Racquet Club for 15 years. He is originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he played college tennis for William Carey College, achieving a National Team Ranking of #12 in the NAIA. Walters received the USPTA Pro of the Year Award for Louisiana in 1996 and the President’s Award from the Louisiana Tennis Association in 2005. He has coached hundreds of junior players who have achieved national, southern regional and state rankings. Ronnie has also held leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Tennis Association and the Lake Area Community Tennis Association and has been a tournament director for numerous national and local events.
Alvin Varnado
Tennis Professional
Alvin Varnado is a USPTA and USPTR certified teaching professional with over twelve years of experience working extensively with ladies, men and junior teams of all ages and abilities. Alvin received the Tennis Professional Merit Award from The Louisiana Tennis Association in 2005. Alvin played collegiate tennis and still competes in tournaments nation wide.
Courts may be reserved in half-hour increments, up to a maximum of an hour and a half by calling the front desk or clicking on the Reserve A Court link.
To reserve a court time online, you must be registered for a username and password within the website. Only one court time per day may be reserved by any one member 3 days in advance. Court times only can be reserved, not specific courts. The person reserving the court for a group must be a member.
Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 9:30pm
Weekends - 8:00am to 9:00pm
All members wishing to use the tennis facilities are required to present their membership card and sign in at the front desk prior to entering the tennis area.

All tennis players must wear proper court shoes while in the tennis area. No sandals, running shoes or any other non-court shoes are allowed. Proper tennis attire is required for all players. Dryfit-crew or collar shirts and tennis shorts are acceptable. Cutoffs are not allowed on the courts.
Individual instruction is available and focuses on developing strong fundamentals to reach personal goals while enjoying the game of tennis. Private, semi-private, Three & Me, and group lessons for all levels are available. Contact Ronnie Walters, ronnie@graywoodllc.com, to schedule your lesson.
All levels of Adult and Junior Development programming are available at the Sports Club. Our staff includes a full time experienced team of professionals. Their mission is to offer our members a tennis program that fits the needs of the social beginner to the most advanced 4.0 and above players. Calendars are available at the information table in the lobby.
All guests must be accompanied by the member and are required to register at the Front Desk prior to using the tennis courts. The same tennis guest may not visit more than 6 times in any one year.
